SALSA - quiz fund raiser - The John Vincent Memorial Big Quiz Gig
Spicks and Specks host, Adam Hills has joined on again for next year's John Vincent Memorial Big Gig Quiz.
This year's inaugural quiz saw the winner take all - an assortment of prizes, including a microwave [split that amongst 6] - total value over $6,000.00. The quiz was held at the Arkaba Hotel on the 19th of May and sold out weeks in advance.
The quiz, an annual event, has been named after the late Australian Radio Legend John Vincent who passed away recently. His daughters, Sam, Heidi and Belinda were guests at the evening and said "they were just so emotional to see so many people turn up."
Thanks to new technology tables keyed in their answers and within seconds of all answering the result and answers were flashed on to huge screens.
"It was just like playing Who Wants To Be A millionaire" said David Day, Chair of SALSA. "I'm sure other States will be able to hook in to this new system which just takes away all the hassle and stress of ticking and adding up tons of paper work."
A huge thank you to SALSA committee members, Gary Burrows, Jane Intini, Sheridan Stewart, Tony Savage plus Debonair Greg Clark who together raised $5000 for Support Act.
Bigger Brighter and Better, next year, as they say. Adam Hills claims he’s already got some comedy to use in a new show from some of the happenings on the night.
